Ice Shot Deadeye Ranger
The statistically dominant build in PoE2 for two consecutive patches. Mirage Archer doubles projectile output; every Ice Shot freezes and shatters packs. Fubgun's guide holds 5.7K Mobalytics favorites (updated Jun 18). Over 34% of top-ladder players ran Deadeye in 0.4 — 80% specifically on Ice Shot. Mirage Deadeye can now channel Snipe, a major 0.5 buff. Clears campaign in 8–12 hours on league-start gear. Game8 confirms S-tier post-0.5.3.

Whirling Trinity Martial Artist Monk
The single most-favorited build on Mobalytics at 9.4K favorites (updated Jun 29) — Ronarray's guide covers league start through endgame with 5+ variants. Hollow Form clones execute Whirling Assault while Trinity Aura multiplies elemental damage. Reaches ~5M DPS, 10K ES, 23K evasion. Note: Whirling Assault Quality changed in 0.5.x from 0–15% more Attack Speed to 0–20% increased AS — a minor multiplicative-to-additive downgrade on the quality roll, but the build's core is untouched.

Twister Spirit Walker Huntress
The headline ascendancy of Runes of Aldur. Snoobae's guide holds 3.6K Mobalytics favorites (updated Jun 22). Owl grants projectile speed scaling that Twisters scale on at very low investment; Ice-Tipped Arrows converts Twisters cold for instant screen shatter. Summoned Bear tanks hits for you. Neither 0.5, 0.5.1, 0.5.2, nor 0.5.3 touched it — at this rate, 1.0 will be named after it.

Twister Pathfinder Ranger
Three patches of proven dominance. Completely untouched through 0.5.3. Exceptional projectile speed scaling, wide area coverage, consistent boss and mapping performance. Maxroll has a dedicated Twister Deadeye guide for Ranger players who prefer the Deadeye ascendancy variant — both are functionally very similar, Deadeye slightly edges out on crit and frenzy charge generation.

Walking Calamity Autobomber Warrior
The highest-ceiling build in the game at high investment — walk across maps while meteors auto-clear everything. Fury of the King transforms you into a demon bear; Trampletoe chains overkill damage infinitely. Estimated 4–5M DPS. Maxroll has both a leveling (Shapeshift Druid) and endgame (Walking Calamity Shaman/Warrior) guide for different variants of this autobomber core. Week 2+ build, not a starter.

Ice Strike Martial Artist Monk
Promoted to S-tier following a patch buff: Quality now grants 0–20% increased Attack Speed (was 0–10% more AS). Game8 explicitly rates it S-tier post-0.5.3 alongside Ice Shot and Explosive Shot — comfortable T15 clearing at low investment with no unique requirements. Ice Strike + Shattering Palm generates ice shards for AoE detonations; Way of the Mountain immobilizes enemies for follow-up. Standalone endgame viable on its own, not just a leveling phase for Whirling builds.

Explosive Shot Invoker Monk
New S-tier confirmed by game8 post-0.5.3, listed alongside Ice Shot Deadeye and Ice Strike MA as the patch's dominant builds. Invoker ascendancy amplifies elemental hit damage; Explosive Shot's fire projectile detonates in a large AoE and chains naturally with Invoker's elemental scaling nodes. Rated for comfortable T15 clearing at low investment — the game8 write-up specifically cites it as an accessible endgame entry point. Dedicated game8 guide available.

Demon Recoup Infernalist Witch
Game8 S-tier post-0.5.3. Distinct from the CoC Recoup Infernalist (entry #27) — this variant runs Demon Form as the primary mechanic with Sigil of Power, Frost Bomb, Ball Lightning, and Spellslinger to generate Cast-on-Critical procs while in Demon Form. Pyromantic Pact's self-damage is outpaced by Recoup. Reaches extreme burst via the Demon Form damage multiplier. Game8's full guide covers the skill setup; verified new S-tier alongside Ice Shot.

Strength / Armor Stacking Titan Warrior
Game8 S-tier post-0.5.3 — separate build from the Shield Wall/Whirling Assault Titan (entry #14). Uses Facebreaker-style unarmed scaling: stacking raw Strength drives both damage and armor simultaneously. Hulking Form converts Strength to armor; at high stacks the build reaches enormous defensive and offensive thresholds. Distinct from the map-clear Shield Wall build — this is the boss-killer and tankiness-ceiling Titan variant. Dedicated game8 guide available.

10A
Lightning Arrow Deadeye Ranger
Dropped from S to A following a 0.5.3 nerf: Multiple Lightning Beams no longer chain onto the same target — this directly reduces the AoE density that made the build overperform in pack-clear. Still zero unique requirements, still the most accessible bow build in the game, and Herald of Thunder screen-wipes on kill remain untouched. The default recommendation for first-time players stands, but endgame scaling is now clearly behind Ice Shot. Controller friendly.

Plant Oracle Druid Druid
7,300+ combined Mobalytics favorites across DEADRABB1T (3,800) and Raxxanterax (3,500) — the highest combined guide engagement of any single build this patch. Entangle is available at level 1 and used all the way to pinnacle bosses. Forced Outcome guarantees a crit on every cast, auto-triggering Thunderstorm via Cast on Critical to permanently water plants. Dodged the ES nerfs entirely; transitions into CoC Comet Oracle at high budget with the same passive tree.

Archmage Spark Stormweaver Sorceress
Mana-stacking Sorceress with enormous screen-clear. Unaffected by 0.5 ES nerfs (doesn't use ES recharge). New Runic Infusion Support synergizes perfectly — consuming Runic Ward boosts damage directly. Multiple Maxroll-verified guides. Transitions from Spark leveling into Archmage endgame with Cast on Shock for extreme burst. See also Adonia's Trifusion (#18) for the high-budget Stormweaver endgame ceiling variant.

Rampaging Bear Shaman Druid Druid
Named explicitly on Mobalytics' curated tier list and the mmoexp leaderboard report. Rampage reaches 120%+ movement speed while stomping everything. Herald of Ice chains create screen-clearing explosions. Survived 0.5 nerfs entirely — runs armor + Defiance of Destiny, not ES. Ronarray's Mobalytics guide updated June 10; CaptainLance9's Meteor Bear guide is an endgame variant. Shockwave Totem + Rampage + Walking Calamity destroys bosses.

Shield Wall / Whirling Assault Titan Warrior
The map-clear survivability king — distinct from the new Strength/Armor Stacking Titan (entry #9). Hulking Form is one of the best ascendancy nodes in the game. Nearly 20,000 armor applied to elemental damage. Survived 0.5 untouched. Default recommendation for hardcore players and anyone who wants to stay alive. Leaderboard reports show Smith of Kitava variants also highly competitive alongside Titan.

Erasure DoT Contagion Lich Witch
The undisputed SSF king for two straight patches. Clears yellow maps on campaign drops alone. ED + Contagion chain is the smoothest pack-clear in dense content — race-winning viable, the strongest signal for a league starter. Scales into multiple chaos DoT endgame variants without a rebuild. Adonia's Trifusion Stormweaver Sorceress
High-end Stormweaver variant built around Adonia's unique item and tri-element Trifusion scaling — OperatorOtter's Mobalytics guide (updated Jun 30, 2026) is the primary reference. Trifusion elemental conflux multiplies damage when hitting with all three elements simultaneously; Stormweaver's prolif and chain effects distribute all three element types naturally. Endgame-only build distinct from Archmage Spark (#12) — this is the 15–30 divine investment ceiling Stormweaver, not the starter path.

The survivor of the Blood Mage leech nerfs — avoids the nerf entirely by using life-based mechanics rather than leech. Blood Magic converts spell costs to life; Sunder the Flesh grants guaranteed crits for Spark. Transitions into Cast-on-Crit Comet at high budget via Call of the Brotherhood. Wield a scythe like the Grim Reaper. Reap from a Reaping Staff base trades cast speed for massive per-hit damage. Trampletoe chains overkill damage to everything within 2m and repeats infinitely. Rupture the Flesh adds physical explosion to the plant archetype, combining top-tier clear and survivability via low-life ES. Mobalytics community builds active; Maxroll witch section covers Blood Mage endgame options.

The safest Warriors build. Totems absorb hits while you stand behind them. Wooden Wall redirects 20% incoming damage to nearby totems. 3-patch proven; creator POEGuy has run this exact setup through 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 with an active Discord community. Slight infusion generation friction in acts 1–3. Maxroll Shield Wall Warbringer guide provides a solid base.

Oil Barrage Wyvern Druid Druid
One of the biggest winners of 0.5 according to multiple leaderboard reports. Oil Barrage into Wyvern Form provides absurd single-target DPS through poison scaling and power charge management. Many top players using it for pinnacle boss farming. Oil Barrage received a ~35% composite nerf from 0.4's cartoonishly OP levels but remains extremely strong. Mobalytics has active Wyvern Oracle leveling guides; Maxroll Druid section covers the endgame.

Djinn Disciple Varashta (Specters) Witch
The minion build that survived the 0.5 nerf wave — Specter-based Disciple Varashta avoids the Infernal Legion nerfs entirely. New ascendancy nodes reduce movement speed penalty. Summoner comfort playstyle: command spectral minions while staying safe. GGG buffed companion and minion survivability in 0.5, making this more viable. Maxroll Minion Army Spirit Walker guide is the best bridge reference; Minion Army Lich endgame guide also available.

Incinerate + ED/Contagion Chronomancer Sorceress
Reworked Chronomancer nodes make this far more defensively comfortable than prior patches. Incinerate provides sustained DPS; ED + Contagion handles pack-clear. Full 6.5-minute act 1–3 leveling guide by Jinforce Speed with endgame video. Does not rely on broken systemic mechanics — works cleanly on its own. Budget 5/5, SSF 5/5, and maps 5/5 per the aoeah tier analysis. Maxroll has an Arc Stormweaver guide that covers the Chronomancer alternative paths.

Grim Pillar Oracle Druid Druid
Named explicitly in the mmoexp leaderboard meta report alongside Shield Wall Titans and Twister Monks as a top-ladder archetype. Creates screens full of damaging pillars that scale through Oracle's guaranteed crit. New Runeforging system in 0.5 directly enables this build. Primary weakness is survivability at lower investment. Still being actively optimized by the community. Mobalytics Oracle Wyvern guide covers the Oracle Druid core tree.

Oracle CoC Comet (Ice Shot / Frostbolt) Ranger
Maximum single-target damage in the game at high investment. Ice Shot or Frostbolt triggers Cast-on-Crit Comet for screen-obliterating burst. Maxroll's Cold Spark Pathfinder guide covers the CoC Comet transition. Oracle ascendancy was initially rated weak but community testing improved its reputation. Transitions cleanly from Plant Oracle at ~20 divine investment using the same passive tree. Lacks defensive depth early.

CoC Spark/Frostbolt Comet Recoup Infernalist Witch
Weaponizes Pyromantic Pact's self-damage downside. Infernal Flame replaces mana; life+ES recoup outpaces the self-damage — 4,000+ recoup/sec makes Demon Form irrelevant. 0.5 added 9 new Life Recoup Speed passives, directly buffing this. Ignatius' Mobalytics guide (1,300+ favs, updated June 11) is the definitive reference. 5-divine investment, Uber-capable. Note: see also Demon Recoup Infernalist (#8) — a related but distinct Demon Form–first variant that game8 rates S-tier.

Vivid Stampede / Tame Beast Spirit Walker Huntress
The zoo-style companion variant of the new Spirit Walker ascendancy. Vivid Stampede scales off movement speed and dodge-roll distance, generating wisps for massive burst. Spirit Walker can also run Tame Beast for a companion-heavy zoo build. Maxroll's Minion Army Spirit Walker guide is the best structural reference. High mobility, satisfying clear — defensively demanding and still being solved by the community as the league matures.

Flicker Strike / Falling Thunder Martial Artist Monk
Dropped to C-tier following 0.5.3 nerfs — content creators covering the patch explicitly called out Flicker Strike as requiring significantly more investment post-nerf, with "old builds needing more investment to function." Perpetual Charge + corrupted Serpent's Egg mechanic still works in principle but the setup cost jumped considerably. Falling Thunder's damage ceiling remains high. Retain this entry if you're committed to the playstyle — just budget a week more of currency than pre-nerf.
