Named uniques relevant to Disciple of Varashta in 0.5.5. Every modifier below was verified against a dedicated item wiki page rather than taken from guide paraphrase — that check caught three slot-type errors carried in the guides themselves. Not all are required; tiers indicate when to pursue them.
Three slot categories that sit outside the main gear table. Note that no on-kill mana or life jewel appears in any sourced guide for this build — if you are expecting one from other minion archetypes, it is genuinely absent here. Mana is solved by cost reduction and the Lavianga's Spirits flask swap instead.
Five configurations, and two of them are genuinely different builds rather than gear variations. Fire and Sand is Maxroll's own league-start default and what the Gear Slots tab is written for. Ice and Sand is an endgame sub-variant of it. The Plant / Djinn-caster family uses a different weapon, different skills and different uniques entirely — treat the gear table here as not applying to it.
Two nodes unlock per ascendancy visit. The first visit unlocks both Djinns (Kelari and Ruzhan), which are immediately impactful because they are invulnerable and cost no Spirit. The defensive floor (Fourth Teaching + Sacred Rituals) comes together at the second visit and is what makes the Chaos Inoculation transition survivable.
Disciple of Varashta does not use an Essence-based crafting sequence. The sourced guides describe crafting through Soul Cores, Instillments, Runes, and Runeforging instead. This tab documents those systems. Essences are absent, and that is intentional — not a gap.
Standard currencies still have real crafting roles — they are not replaced by Essences and Runeforging, they are sequenced after them. The general rule: Essence → Desecrate/Omen → Exalt open slots → Divine to maximize rolls.
All build guides referenced to construct this crafting guide. Organised by how directly they were used. All links open in a new tab. Verify patch version before following any guide.
Maxroll.gg is the most rigorously maintained community resource for PoE2 build guides — the Disciple of Varashta minion guide (Helm Breaker) and Plant guide (Goratha) are both primary sources here. PoE Vault (Dook) is an independent corroborating source that cross-checks sceptre priority and adds jewel priorities absent from Maxroll. The archived PoE Vault levelling guide and Entangle guide are included to document disagreements (e.g., conflicting ascendancy node order), not to follow. Item wiki verification (poe2wiki.net, Game8, PoE Fandom) is what caught slot-type errors in the guides themselves — trust wiki item pages over guide paraphrase for specific modifier text.
